Gold signals for US traders: XAU/USD and gold futures

Our gold signals are quoted in spot XAU/USD. US traders follow them with COMEX gold futures: same direction, same distances, three targets on every trade.

US traders follow Forexuro gold signals through COMEX gold futures, either the full-size GC contract (100 troy ounces) or Micro Gold, MGC (10 troy ounces). You add the current gap between futures and spot to each XAU/USD level, and because one Forexuro gold pip and one futures tick are both $0.10, the pips in our record read straight across as ticks.

Gold is the strongest market in the Forexuro record, and this page shows US traders how to take part: the contracts, the conversion, a worked example with a real TP3 trade, and the gold numbers you can check yourself.

How US traders follow XAU/USD signals with gold futures

In the US, leveraged gold trading for individual traders runs through regulated exchange futures, and the main market is COMEX, part of CME Group. So rather than spot XAU/USD, US followers use gold futures to take the same trade: when the desk sells gold, you sell the futures contract; when it buys, you buy. The futures price tracks spot gold all day, so the moves you see in our signals are the moves you see on your futures chart.

Futures bring some real advantages for a signal follower. Prices are set on one central exchange, the contract size and tick value are fixed, and Micro Gold makes the contract small enough to scale in and out across three targets.

GC and Micro Gold: contract size and tick value

ContractSizeMinimum move (tick)Value of one tickValue of a $1.00 gold move
Gold futures (GC)100 troy ounces$0.10 per ounce$10$100
Micro Gold futures (MGC)10 troy ounces$0.10 per ounce$1$10

Contract terms from CME Group's published specifications for COMEX Gold and Micro Gold futures. Check the current contract terms with CME Group before trading.

Micro Gold is one tenth of GC, so ten Micro Gold contracts behave like one GC. That makes MGC the natural fit for following a three-target signal in parts, because one position can be closed a slice at a time at TP1, TP2 and TP3.

Futures and spot: shifting the levels by the basis

A gold futures contract settles on a future date, so its price includes the cost of carrying gold until then, mostly interest. The gap between the futures price and spot is called the basis. It is usually positive, it changes slowly from day to day, and it shrinks as the contract approaches expiry. It also jumps when you move from one contract month to the next, so always use the contract you are actually trading.

Our signals are written in spot XAU/USD. To follow one on futures:

  1. When the signal arrives, note the spot XAU/USD price and the price of your gold futures contract at the same moment.
  2. Work out the basis: futures price minus spot price.
  3. Add the basis to the entry, the stop and each of TP1, TP2 and TP3.
  4. Place the trade on the futures contract. Every distance, in dollars and in ticks, is identical to the signal.

The site's own rates feed showed spot gold at about $4,012 on 29 October 2026. We have not found a free official source for a live futures quote that we can publish, so this page does not print a basis figure: read it from your futures platform at the moment the signal lands, because that is the number that matters for your order.

Worked example: the 14 September 2026 gold buy

On 14 September 2026 the desk bought gold at 4270, with a stop at 4220 and targets at 4275, 4295 and 4320. The record shows it ran all the way to TP3 for +500 pips. Here is the same trade written for futures, with B standing for the basis you read from your platform:

LevelSignal (spot XAU/USD)Distance from entryFutures levelTicks from entry
Entry (buy)4270-4270 + B-
Stop loss4220$50.004220 + B500
TP14275$5.004275 + B50
TP24295$25.004295 + B250
TP34320$50.004320 + B500

Reaching TP3 was a $50.00 move, or 500 ticks. On one Micro Gold contract that is $500, and on one GC contract $5,000, before costs. Following the desk's management, the stop moves to entry once TP1 is hit, so the rest of the move to TP2 and TP3 runs with the entry protected. Results are measured between published prices, before trading costs; past results do not guarantee future results.

Gold pips to futures ticks

Because one Forexuro gold pip is $0.10 of price and one COMEX tick is also $0.10, a gold result in pips is the same number of ticks. These are the median distances from entry across 716 gold signals in the public CSV with every level filled in, from 6 November 2023 to 28 October 2026:

LevelMedian distance, gold pipsSame in ticksValue on one Micro GoldValue on one GC
TP15050$50$500
TP2120120$120$1,200
TP3200200$200$2,000

Forexuro gold record highlights

Gold has done more for the Forexuro record than any other market. In the signals study of every trade closed from 6 November 2023 to 26 October 2026, the desk closed 719 gold signals at an 82.5% success rate for +96,860 pips, more than half of the +167,174 pips across all eight markets.

2026 has been stronger still. In the public CSV, from 1 January to 28 October 2026, gold signals reached a target 89.3% of the time for +57,620 pips, and 63% of the winners went all the way to TP3. In the current results window:

In the current results window (September 2026 to 2 November 2026) 42 XAU/USD signals closed: 41 reached a take profit (TP3 on 28 of them), 1 hit the stop and 0 closed at breakeven. That is a success rate of 97.6% and +16,020 pips. Across all markets in the same window the success rate is 86.7% from 179 closed signals, the figure on the results board.

Success rate is take profit closes divided by take profit plus stop loss closes, for signals closed from September 2026 to 2 November 2026, the same rolling window and method as the results board. Breakeven exits are not counted as losses and are listed separately. Pips are measured to the highest target reached and exclude spread, swap and slippage. Every signal since November 2023 is in the trade history and the CSV record; see how results are scored. Past results do not guarantee future results.

Success rate is take profits divided by take profits plus stops, with breakevens listed separately. Results are measured between published prices, before trading costs; past results do not guarantee future results.

Every gold trade is in the trade history, on the gold signal results page and in the CSV, and the verify page shows how to check any row against your own chart. The gold signals page explains how the desk trades XAU/USD.

When gold signals arrive, in UK time and ET

Gold signals follow the same desk hours as the rest of Forexuro: usually between about 05:00 and 15:00 UK time, which is midnight to 10:00am ET for most of the year and 1:00am to 11:00am ET in the short weeks when UK and US clocks change on different dates. The big US releases move gold as much as any currency, so the desk watches the jobs report and CPI at 13:30 UK time (8:30am ET) and the Fed decision at 19:00 UK time (2:00pm ET). The weekly gold forecast sets out the levels and events for the week ahead, and the full US picture, including the FIFO way of taking three targets, is on forex signals for US traders.

Frequently asked questions

How do US traders follow XAU/USD gold signals?

Through COMEX gold futures, the full-size GC contract or Micro Gold (MGC). The signal levels are shifted by the gap between the futures price and spot at the time of the signal, and the stop and targets keep the same distances.

Is one Forexuro gold pip the same as one COMEX gold tick?

Yes. On forexuro.com one gold pip is $0.10 of price, and the minimum price move on COMEX gold futures is also $0.10 per ounce. A 500 pip gold signal is therefore a 500 tick move: $500 on one Micro Gold contract or $5,000 on one GC contract, before costs.

What is the difference between GC and Micro Gold futures?

GC is 100 troy ounces, so each $0.10 tick is worth $10. Micro Gold (MGC) is 10 troy ounces, one tenth of the size, so each tick is worth $1. Both follow the same gold price.

Why is the gold futures price different from spot XAU/USD?

A futures contract settles at a later date, so its price includes the cost of carrying gold until then, mainly interest. That gap, called the basis, is usually positive and narrows as the contract nears expiry.
